Call for Expressions of Interest: Cell and Gene Therapies for Type 1 Diabetes
CCRM Australia is seeking Expressions of Interest from Australian academic researchers with an interest in Type 1 Diabetes to participate in an emerging international collaboration focused on accelerating scalable cell and gene therapies.
This initiative is being developed in partnership with CCRM (Centre for Commercialization of Regenerative Medicine) in Canada. The collaboration will bring together leading academic, clinical and industry groups to address key challenges in translating next-generation therapies into clinically viable and manufacturable solutions.
The focus is on iPSC-derived beta cell therapies, with an emphasis on clinically relevant and scalable pathways. The program aims to address key bottlenecks in reproducibility, process development and clinical implementation.
Areas of interest include:
Cell source development and biomanufacturing
Beta cell differentiation and function
Cell survival and engraftment
Immune protection and cell shielding technologies
Translational and clinical research in Type 1 Diabetes
Enabling platforms and analytical technologies
This is an opportunity to contribute to a globally connected effort and help shape how these therapies advance through translation, manufacturing and into the clinic.
