Silvio Tiziani

CEO, CCRM Australia

Silvio Tiziani played a key role in the establishment of CCRM Australia after securing funding from Monash University, MTP Connect, CSIRO and The Victorian Government. Silvio’s skills focus on the specialised role of leading the strategic alliance with the Centre of Commercialisation of Regenerative Medicine (CCRM) and being Director of ARMI’s external engagement, strategic planning and communications. Silvio’s extensive knowledge of the research landscape is well utilised with his networks within industry, international organisations and the state and federal government.

Silvio has extensive experience in private and public organisations, with a focus on laboratory-based organisations in the academic, health and healthcare systems.

In addition to qualifications that include a Bachelor of Science from Swinburne University and a Masters of Business Administration from Monash University, Silvio is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) and a Certified Professional with the Australia Human Resources Institute (CAHRI).  Silvio has extensive experience in financial analysis and budget management, business development, strategic planning and corporate governance along with the interpersonal skills to lead staff.

Silvio also chairs the Ausbiotech Regenerative Medicine Advisory Group, comprising leading representatives from Australian industry and academia to provide specialist advice to Ausbiotech, Australia’s member based biotechnology organisation that promotes the global growth of Australian biotechnology.

Dr Chih Wei Teng

Vice President Corporate Development, CCRM Australia

Chih Wei is the Vice President of Corporate Development at CCRM Australia, responsible for the development and operationalisation of CCRM Australia’s 5 Year strategy. In addition to his administrative role, Chih Wei actively works with biotechnology companies and academics to translate their innovation.

Chih Wei has completed a doctoral degree, researching how the translation of regenerative medicine can be improved with open collaborative innovation. His research showed that interdisciplinary collaboration result in new capabilities that not only improve translation outcomes but also support the development of competitive business models. Chih Wei has an MBA and a diploma thesis on business models of public versus private cord blood banking.

Prior to CCRM Australia, Chih Wei has worked for IBM for seven years where he handled portfolios of Energy and Utilities, Industrial Manufacturing as well as Healthcare and Life Sciences industries. In addition to his role at CCRM Australia, Chih Wei is also a Research Fellow at the Department of Management at Monash University where he works with industry on implementing Sustainable Procurement and research on the growth of SMEs.

Prof Alice Pébay AM 

Chief Scientific Officer, CCRM Australia

Professor Alice Pébay AM is an accomplished medical researcher specialising in the fields of neuroscience and regenerative medicine. She holds a PhD in Neuroscience (Paris, 2001) and a BA in Psychology (Paris, 2010).

Alice’s research focusses on using patient stem cells to model degenerative diseases of the eye and brain. She has published over 120 academic manuscripts and is credited as an inventor of multiple patent applications. Alice has contributed to raising significant funds for research support, from competitive funding, philanthropy, and commercial entities. One of Alice's strengths lies in her extensive network of collaborators, both within Australia and internationally. She has successfully integrated her network into her strategic vision, fostering collaborations, and implementing progressive research directions.

Alice has held leadership positions within Stem Cells Australia and the Australasian Society for Stem Cell Research, both leading committees of stem cell research nationally and abroad.
