Internship Programs

CCRM Australia actively participates in and accepts undergraduate and postgraduate students from Australia’s universities who have an interest in the commercialisation of regenerative medicine or to gain operational experience from the industry. Currently, CCRM Australia accepts student placements two specific roles, and their scope of work is outlined as:

Market Analysis Projects:

Analysis and assessment of the international market and opportunities for Australia in diseases (e.g. Parkinson's Disease, muscular dystrophy), therapies (e.g. exosome/EV therapies, combination therapies) and social/business research (e.g. regulation, culture and innovation models)

This will include

  • undertaking an audit/gap analysis to identify the key participants (academic and clinician researchers and companies) in the local and international ecosystem and their prominence, i.e., be able to answer the question “What is the state of play and who are the clinical and preclinical providers?”

  • Identify what, if any, opportunities exist for the Australian regenerative medicine sector, i.e. what are the critical elements (“hot button items”) that need to be addressed to make the Australian sector well positioned to advance rapidly in addressing this condition.

  • review current policy guidelines regarding this condition, assess their status, and applicability in Australia and possibly develop a library of guidelines with an international focus.

  • consider/develop an educational program to better understand the approach to the condition, including for instance, attendance at national and international conferences, symposia and workshops addressing therapies associated with the condition

  • support the writing of grants, including the upcoming CRC grant.

Business Development Project:

This critical new role supports the progress of the development of CCRM Australia Clarity and Attract. Both are business units of CCRM Australia.

CCRM Australia Clarity provides critical ideas and policies for the Australian regenerative medicine sector. CCRM Clarity is CCRM Australia's Think Tank unit. The purpose of the initiative is to accumulate thought leadership and analysis to facilitate the commercialisation and diffusion of regenerative medicine in Australia. The intern under supervision will be expected to:

  • support the curation and updating of industry and research sector data to support the development of new policies and strategies concerning Australian and international markets

  • assist in the research and development of alternative regenerative medicine business models and the diffusion of regenerative medicine technologies into the healthcare sector

  • support the curation and analysis of clinical and social information that help support grant applications and business strategies, and

  • assist in the development and writing of opinion and blog articles for publication in appropriate print and online publications

  • support the writing of grants, including the upcoming CRC grant.
